Album: Sooo... just Leuluai and Neilsen for next year?
I was wondering who was pencilled in to replace Maloney. We need a veteran to partner the wiz in the halves, and Leuluai fits the bill nicely. Neilsen should add some class out wide, though it's sad that with all our young talent we need to buy outside backs. On that note, have we run out of cash for next year, or were there almost no players on the market pre-june 30 this year? Or is our club not attractive enough? Regardless, the bigwigs in the office and the coach need to discuss this. As good as they are, neither Leuluai nor Neilsen is a marquee signing and considering our inconsistent attack and too-often fragile defence we need more than just a few solid players to fix things (yeah, I know our pts diff is good and we've lost a heap of close ones. Sry, don't care any more). Imo, we need a motivator and a talker in the team (miss you Tatie and Luck). Mannering is solid plus, but sometimes our boys need a verbal clip around the ears (or boot up the arse) to steady the ship and who supplies that currently? Manu as Captain sure as hell won't (plus he should be left to focus on his own game and motivate via his mad good charges out of dummy half). Maybe the bosses could get Reuben Wiki to speak to the boys before every game and at half-time about pride and commitment. That may sound harsh, but I don't think it's talent and ability that we're lacking.

We need to generate more momentum in attack, because we're almost unstoppable when we're rolling forward. Imo, we need someone like Mara on the bench to add some punch at critical times (assuming Bluey's smart enough to work out when that is). We also need to show heaps more urgency around the ruck. I'm sick of seeing markers too slow to get up in D and allowing cheap meters and momentum for the other side. BEING BIG AND TIRED IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO LIE DOWN ON THE JOB!!! Maybe they need to do more speed and endurance drills on ruck defence. Could be "too much weights, not enough speed work!"
