I was hugely against signing Blair, especially with the figures circulated in the media. But I do agree with you in the sense he might be a good signing if he helps mentor and get the best out of the other forwards at the club (because our coaching staff won't). But as Bruce has pointed out, he is not going to bring big metre's which means the slack will have to be picked up by other people. I worry that means RTS just becoming a battering ram which would be like buying a Ferrari to pull farm equipment.

Beale wins the Blake Ayshford award for inoffensive signing, neither over the moon or gutted by it

I read big Sam Thaiday is hanging up the boots at 32 after Wayne cut him loose

You've got to be kidding me.

And here we are signing his partner in crime for massive overs.

    fmd what a joke

Geez I'm surprised no other clubs interested. Surely he'd be a bargain @ 3 mil over 5 years

That says a lot about how desperate the Warriors are doesn't it?.

God some of you guys are full of shit, he's 31 not 34, players like Luke Lewis and Gallen are still going good, in fact a lot of forwards mature with age, look at Corey Parker and he could,of easily played another couple of years.

In fairness it is probably more that he looks like he is coming on overs but if what people on here are saying are true on what we were paying Lillyman then we are still probably paying over to replace a player we paid overs. Also the fact that Doyle turned us into a rehab centre the deal does have a 'one last big paycheck before retirement' feel to it. Which as long as the club gets the value from him wouldn't be an issue, but we rarely get value out of our signings these days

Steve Price looks like he's put on a bit of mass. If Tookey has maintained his size, then bringing both of them back might be crazy enough to work. We need some fat bastards running it straight up the guts. They might tire after their first hit up though :hilarious:

There's a fair chance Tooks has increased his size. Probably make more of a dent in the line even today and guess what can off load as well.

Lewis, Gallen, Parker all true club men who would die for their jersey.

Putting Blah in that same category?

A bit early for that mate.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but history has told us many many many times over this will not end well for us

We could try for George Rose as well. Those two would make pushing in the scrum an integral part of the game again. I'd back them to stop DCE from ever kicking another field goal against us too.

Deffo already signed with us with that miss on Cordner. He will fit right in

Who in our side other than Mannering would have made that try saver on Liu though? Also he shut down their last plays on a couple of occasions so definitely not all bad

The only way I can see him being a good signing is if he can get the best out of players like Lisone and Vete.

They aren't going to get that development from our coaching staff that's for sure

Saw Maumalo pull one similar off versus The Tigers. I agree though Lillyman would of been treading water somewhere and Matulino wouldn't have been in the vicinity
