No he didn't, similar metres per hitup, Matulino averages more hitups a game, more tackles a game and all of that is negatively impacted by him coming off a major injury in his early rounds. Anyway wrong thread for this so I'll stop.

When I watch him amble on over the try line against the Dragons that was more than just a guy who naturally looks disinterested.

I saw a guy that honestly just doesn't give a fuck.

He might make good metres, but for us it will only ever be for a bottom eight side. I stand by my comment that he is part of the problem and I'm glad he's leaving.

Reading this Matulino debate and it's obvious to me that we really need to start recruiting guys who will give 100% to the club and not make excuses about why they aren't.

Hoping Blair will be what we need..

My issue with mutts isn't so much with him as an individual but directed more at our senior "leadership" as a whole.
Mutts should be our pack leader, starting prop, leading from the front but he'd rather play off the bench.
Mannering should be captain- we're crying out for leadership but he'd rather leave it to someone else... and why isn't SJ that someone else either? Doesn't want the pressure...
Come on boys- put your hand up and stop leaving it to every other cunt.

Nah look it's more what Ben represented to me - a connection to when our club had success. I'm probably overly sentimental on the subject however I'm genuinely gutted he's gone.

Ben's the man. He will be sorely missed in the team. Gets his metre count done every game but as you say he also does a lot of tackling. What the team will miss most is the pressure he puts on from marker. Same goes with Lillyman. James Gavet may look good hitting the ball up but he, nor any other forward in the team bar Bull and Benny, are fit enough to do the hard yards as well as post up defensive tackles and metres...

They didn't want him to go - the Tigers offered more than the Warriors were prepared to pay him.

Thank You for your service Ben.
You were among the best props for a time in your career.
One of the most feared in your time.
Maybe a fresh start and new energy can help bring back some of the old Ben.
Reunion with Rusty could be something special in 2018
All of the best at the Tigers to you and your family.

Yes I know that story, but they were offering overs to everybody else? They could have matched it.

They've only been offering overs since the NRL started to indicate what the salary cap for next season was. But that topic has been hashed about enough on here.

As I already posted earlier this year the Warriors offered him a 3 year contract that matched his current one of $500K. Tigers offered him $750K. You'd be a fool to turn down an extra quarter mill a season plus there was the added bonus of being reunited with his dad Cleary and his best mate Rusty...

He was good at the Warriors. Just like so many others, he'll be even better at another club. All the best Ben. Maybe come back one day and bring Ivan with you.

What fucks me off most is all the time and money we have spent developing him and the 3 years will be his prime years as a prop...

This is becoming like the Laumape release all over again. I have the feeling you will be posting something similar to the above a few more times over the best pre-season throughout next year when he is rejuvenated and going well.

The articles mid season linking him to the Knights had one saying they went off him due to his knees being shot. Dale Budge wrote something similar this week.

Most players who have been around for a while would be pretty banged up. What sort of condition is he in?

They seem to be holding up now but there was concerns from the Warriors over his knees which is why they didn't go all in to retain him. If his knees fuck out the club will be geniuses...
