Every player, coach or executive involved with the club should be discussed on this forum objectively. I'm simply highlighting an inconsistency when it comes to Doyle.

Yes it has but under the advise of others, he has his advisers just like the PM. If they get it wrong it flows down the chain, and clearly things have gone wrong, and who it was that got it wrong and I think in the near future we will all see this when big George stamps his mark.

I'm looking forward to Cameron George stamping his mark - unlike his predecessor I have heard very positive feedback on him.

One can only assume you talk to yourself very often then ;) TBH, I've heard some not so pleasant things about his time at Auckland Racing about staff members who felt quite bullied at times.

Then again, a lot of ex-staff members who haven't been happy don't usually give glowing reports about their ex-bosses.

    Time will tell!!!

Just about anyone involved with the club needs a hardass running it. I don't condone bullying but these cunts need a rocket up them or be told to fuck off

Nothing wrong with talking to yourself, you just don't want to be caught doing it too often!

As for George, I think it's pretty clear the organisation is crying out for someone to step in and start making some very big changes. I've heard the word bullying used before when there is resistance to change - people don't like being told what to do. Will be interesting to see how things play out. I need to start being optimistic about something at the club (I realise that I have been quite unbearable at times this year), so might as well start with the new CEO.

Personally, I wouldn't at all say "unbearable" - it's good having rigorous discussions (unless it's with Jonno) and trying to see things from another angle.

Not a great deal yet, positive comments from former colleagues - the word brilliant was used to describe him. There's something else I heard that relates more to his opinion of someone that fills me with a lot of hope.

Just because Doyle utilised his relationships to get Foran, Luke and RTS to the club doesn't mean he facilitates recruitment so why are you blaming him, he oversees it. Blair and Foran were Kearneys call 100%

Blaming recruitment on Doyle is foolish.

Also everyone was beaming when we signed the above players yet we hang Doyle because Kearney couldn't get the best out of these players.

An opinion about Doyle I'm gathering.

I'll be honest I don't mind hearing that George has a strong manner about him.

Nah not Doyle - he's his chairman so I wouldn't be pleased to hear that!

Am hearing that they are looking at employing a recruitment officer based in Australia.

Do you honestly believe Doyle has done that bad? honestly if he had, i`m sure EW would have looked elsewhere for a chairman to take over.
I also am looking forward to Cameron shaking the branches on the tree, the interesting thing I will be watching out for is the rotten apples that fall

Put it this way - my care factor for anything beyond what happens on the playing field is approaching zero. So I base my assessment on that. In that regard I can't recall our club being in a worse position. I hate the style of play and the results and I think the recruitment strategy has got steadily worse - I will genuinely find the Warriors a much easier team to support when Foran is gone. I don't rate the coach either, he's boring and too risk averse. This all happened under Doyle's watch.

The chairman role is very different to that of CEO and I think he will be much more suited to it.

Blair maybe but I have a hard time believing that about Foran, Doyle is still promoting signing Foran as a win, he is emotionally tied to that and i cant believe he wouldnt have leaned on kearney to take Foran. I reckon Foran was coming whether SK liked it or not.
BTW - I was one who thought having Foran here for a year was better than not havng him but I also thought he might stay longer (but not too worried now that he isnt) so I woulda made the same mistake.

Couldn't agree more, end of the day when it comes to rugby league Doyles just a fan like the rest of us. He's well versed in compliance, governance and the commercial side of the business, but in terms of the role of the CEO, overseeing the football department should be a separate role from the commercial one because it requires more than a cursory understanding about rugby league.

Doyle's business sense for a bargain deal made him pursue Foran, but all he really knew was A. He's a good player and B. He could use his connections at NRL HQ to get him to the Warriors where a quality operator as head of football might consider a few other variables like seeing the need to address the balance of the roster as more important, the distractions that would come with Foran for the rest of the players etc.

I'm not certain Cameron George is an ideal candidate in that regard either but happy to be proven wrong. I think as someone mentioned he has at least played the game, not that that makes him suitably qualified.

I'd feel more comfortable if we had someone with real rugby league knowledge in that role.

I can`t disagree with you too much on results, I thought Foran actually straightened our attack up early on, which was what was needed but definitely lost interest after signing with the dogs, As for his signing I was looking forward to what he was going to bring based solely on football ability. I have to say disappointed would be an understatement. I met him after the game on Sunday and my opinion of him was, he didn`t care too much about us fans he was doing his job and couldn`t wait to get out of there and probably out of NZ.
As for Doyle I think you are being abit harsh, He successfully led Navman to the top echelon, he did the same with the NZRL. So to me with the Warriors the problems were well entrenched before his arrival, and in the three years he was there you`ll probably find there was more to fix than what one man was capable of.
