Quality match for a trial, much better performance compared with last week.
Some impressive performances from a couple of the fringe players.
Hopefully Johnson's injury isn't serious, though I thought he was disappointing before going off.
Who was your MoM??

I'll be visiting NZ this July, and should be able to make it to the Round 20 match at MT Smart. Any suggestions on the best seats at MT Smart?
Ropati returns for Dunedin trial
Tuesday 19 February 2013 11:18 PM
Jerome Ropati (pictured) will play his first game in 10 months and Todd Lowrie his first for his new club when the Vodafone Warriors take on Brisbane in Saturday night’s historic NRL trial at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin (7.30pm kick-off). Photo: Photosport.
Ropati has been sidelined since having his 2012 campaign ended by another knee injury in the club’s 10th-round encounter with the Sydney Roosters in Auckland last May.
The 28-year-old 11-season veteran has been named on the bench for his planned return in the Vodafone Warriors’ final trial before they open their 2013 programme against Parramatta on Saturday, March 9. A weeks later they stage their blockbuster first home game of the season...
They aren't unfit, same as they weren't unfit last year, they're just too damn slow and lazy.....
Bro, just out of interest, do you think the coaching is to blame for that, or solely the players? It's not like these guys aren't physically capable, but it really sounds like they've been developed with the notion that talent is enough for them - hard yards and desperation just doesn't seem to be there with all the players. On the occasions where we've pulled out a blinding performance on defence and the line's moved up fast and coherently, we seem to have followed it up with yet another display of defence so slow it's like they're playing in porridge.
It's almost as if success has always led a huge proportion of the players to believe they simply have to turn up to get the job done....

Head coach Matthew Elliott has included a mix of NRL experience, NYC-eligible players, some who have been on trial and a 2012 Auckland Vulcans regular for Saturday’s opening 2013 trial against the Gold Coast Titans at Pizzey Park, Burleigh Heads (5.15pm kick-off local time). Photo: Photosport.
In naming his first team as Vodafone Warriors head coach, Elliott has named prop Steve Rapira as captain in a line-up including new signings Dominique Peyroux and Harry Siejka.
For Auckland-born and raised Peyroux (24), the match will be a homecoming of sorts. The centre-winger was signed in early November after 16 NRL appearances for the Titans in 2011-2012.
Apart from Peyroux – named to play in the centres – Rapira and former Penrith half Siejka, other players with NRL experience selected are...
Can't wait for footage of this , must of been on the news by now..
Red Bull never does anything by halves - and it certainly didn’t hold back today.
The global giant’s dare-devil, full-on approach was graphically illustrated as it made a spectacular entrance as the Vodafone Warriors’ newest sponsor at Mount Smart Stadium this morning.
Red Bull had hatched a stunt to gate crash a Vodafone Warriors training session, pulling all the pieces together in just a few days without any of the club’s players or most staff having any idea about what would unfold.
The event was all about welcoming the Vodafone Warriors to Red Bull’s world … and welcoming Red Bull to the Vodafone Warriors’ world, an occasion created for the club, management and staff only (Red Bull having signed a three-year...
Below is a list from the Daily Telegraph of players that are off contract at the end of 2013. Who catches your eye? Who would you like to see signed up? Who would you definately not want?
NRL PLAYERS OFF CONTRACT AFTER 2013 SEASON
Come on boys, can’t we do better than this?
The Warriors in 2012? What an embarrassment, what a disgrace. And this team faces sizeable hurdles if 2013 is to shape up any better. This is new head coach Matt Elliot’s last chance to prove himself in the NRL. So what went wrong last year? A mixture of coaching ineptitude and player revolt combined to see the Warriors lose eight games in a row as an embarrassing finale to the 2012 season. Closely following the end of the season, we all got on-board the coaching rumour merry-go-round until early October when Elliot was announced as the new coach. Bellamy supporters were distraught, and one or two players rather tactlessly voiced their support of Iro. None of it mattered though, Wayne Scurrah had ‘his man’ and the coaching...
It'd be a big loss in my opinion, not least of all because we have little else in the way of 'attacking' backrowers. I was impressed by him last year, even while the team itself went to absolute crap. He has ties in NZ so hopefully that sways his decision. Anyway, speculation will only mount as the season progresses. Article below.
With his price tag about to soar, the Warriors are no certainty to retain Feleti Mateo at the end of this year.
Negotiations are underway to re-sign the prized asset, but the Penrith Panthers are just one suitor to indicate interest, which could leave the Warriors locked in a tug-of-war for his valuable services.
Simon Mannering has today been confirmed to extend his Vodafone Warriors captaincy reign to a fourth NRL season, leaving him on track to become the longest-serving skipper in the club’s history.
New head coach Matthew Elliott said a decision about Mannering’s continuation in the role had been announced to the players while they were in camp in Hamilton late last week.
“Simon’s an absolutely logical choice for the job,” said Elliott.
“He’s mutually respected and admired by all the players and staff for the quality he brings to our club as a leader and a player. He’s a person of strong character and a wonderful work ethic.
“It was always my intention that the announcement would be made close to us beginning our trials (the first is against Gold Coast on February 9).

So in an attempt to avoid future de-railments, we'll continue this thread from last year. There seems to be so much discussion surrounding him that pretty much anything Manu related in 2013 can live here.
For whatever reasons, Manu's role/position in the team is an emotive subject. However, as with the prior thread, can we pleeeease leave the personal crap out of it, and discuss Manu - his best position, his performances, how shit he is...whatever. Just as long as we aren't slinging shit at eachother, then all will be well.
Anyway, back on topic. Manu's leaner and apparently a bit quicker than he's been in the recent past, and will likely start the season on the wing. The general consensus seems to be that he should, at some point in the near future, be...
Who needs to be shown the door at seasons end if they don't fire this year?
Tuimavave, tupou, ikahahifo,Lousi brothers r on there last legs, there salarys combined we could at least get a reni maitua or lama tasi. People that contribute and not fill in. The tigers have koroibete he scored 4trys in a game last year, cowboys have taumalolo he kills it so why are our young guys failing to impress surely you dong need 3years to get up to speed.
A thread to discuss what sort of (hypothetical) positional experiments you think might be interesting, including experiments that you would never do. I.e Locke to wing
Personally, even though I would never risk changing arguably our best prop, I had been wondering what Matulino would be like if he was put back in the second-row.
THE New Zealand Warriors have launched a shock bid to poach Todd Carney, prompting moves from Cronulla to extend his contract before the season starts.
News Limited can reveal Warriors coach Matt Elliott met Carney and his representatives in Auckland last month.
St George Illawarra is also believed to be in contention for the 26-year-old, who has spent the off-season on the comeback trail from an achilles tendon tear.
Elliott, however, has an inside running for Carney's services from their time together in Canberra.
Although they left the ACT behind long ago, the pair remained in contact and Elliott unsuccessfully tried to lure Carney to Penrith in 2008.Appointed Warriors coach in November, he was quick to take advantage of Carney visiting Auckland for the Fight for Life charity...
Boxing training for his Fight for Life charity bout has brought back Warriors hero Manu Vatuvei's inner "Beast".
The league superstar is taking on Olympic gold medal hero Eric Murray on Saturday night.
Vatuvei has been punished into fighting condition for the match-up by former Warriors and Kiwis hardman, ex-professional boxer Monty Betham.
And Vatuvei - known to fans as "The Beast" for his rampaging runs that leave would-be tacklers in their wake - says Betham's regimen has hardened him mentally and physically after a disappointing NRL season for the giant wing.

From the following groups, who would you like to sign up and the reason i.e. favourite player, think would be a easy signing if approached, a player to fill a positional void for the warriors or who you think would carve up in league. Only interested in current players, who would they replace in the warriors 17 and please provide your reasons why from those above.
1) An AB or International
2) NPC or Super 15 player
3) For a bit of fun and if you don't want to you don't have to but a complete random, a pro athlete from any code, actor, or ficticious character etc
