Warriors centre Jerome Ropati is set to become the second longest serving player in the club's history after signing a new one year contract through to the 2013 season.
The new deal means Ropati will now draw level with Awen Guttenbeil as an 11th season Warriors players with only Stacey Jones, who played 12 seasons at Mt Smart Stadium, ahead of him.
Ropati, who will play at fullback this weekend against the Roosters, made his NRL debut against the Roosters in 2003.
Look, we want a cool place to hang and so do you. With that mutual goal in mind, let's push on.

Vodafone Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah today confirmed Krisnan Inu had been granted a release from his contract to join the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
“The Bulldogs have sought an immediate release due to an injury crisis among their wingers,” he said.
“While Krisnan still has the rest of this season and 2013 to run on his contract, we’ve agreed to let him go now.”
Inu said he was looking forward to his new challenge after signing with the Bulldogs until the end of the 2015 season.
“I appreciate what the Vodafone Warriors have done in letting me go now, giving me the chance to play NRL football,” he said.
“I want to thank everyone at the club for what they’ve done for me. I’ve enjoyed my time here.”
Scurrah said the Vodafone Warriors wouldn’t stand in Inu’s way.
So, now that Nielsen's signing has been confirmed, how do you think the backline will shape up for next season?
I'm guessing something like:
7. Sugartits Johnson
Halves backup being God and Carlos?
Melbourne Storm and Queensland Origin centre Dane Nielsen will join the Vodafone Warriors on a three-year contract after the 2012 NRL season.
The Mackay-born 26-year-old excelled in 2011 when he twice played for the Maroons and has again been a key contributor for the unbeaten Storm this year, notably scoring a double in their 32-14 Anzac Day win over the Vodafone Warriors at AAMI Park.
Confirming Nielsen’s signing today, Vodafone Warriors recruitment and development manager Dean Bell said the club was excited to secure a centre of such quality from the NRL’s leading side.
“He’ll bring a lot to the Vodafone Warriors through his experience with such a strong club like the Storm and through playing Origin football,” he said.
“It’s a huge positive for us to secure a...
Matulino was just a machine, Johnson did most of the work today and Friend mixed up his game a little.
Ropo was very solid on D, defused infinite bombs.
Manu was good today, just one error?
Good to see Lillyman back
The subjects been smashed by many discussions, but in this mornings herald the ARC have reneged on any upgrade meaning that Mt Smart holds a 19K seated capacity and 5K standing, meaning the NRL are saying its not up to finals standard.
I'm starting to seriously think the Warriors have to move, just to remain competitive as a franchise.
Warriors re-sign Bill Tupou through to 2014
He's flown under the radar for most of his career out on the right wing for the Warriors, but the underrated Bill Tupou's recent form doesn't appear to have gone unnoticed by the club's powerbrokers.
Tupou was off contract at the end of this season with an option in favour of the Warriors, but his manager Stan Martin has moved quickly to negotiate a new and upgraded deal for his client.
He wouldn't reveal specifics yesterday but confirmed that on Friday, Tupou put pen to paper on a new contract that will see him call Mt Smart Stadium home until at least the end of 2014.
It's also understood the deal includes an option in the club's favour for the 2015 season.
Martin said the terms of the new contract were confidential but...
Lets move on shall we?
1. Fishiahii (assuming Locke is out)
4. Mannering (c)
I still can't bring myself to pick Ropati.
Happy Anzac day (are you allowed to be happy on anzac day?)
Pita Godinet and Glen Fisiiahi have been included in a 19-man Vodafone Warriors squad flying out to Melbourne.
Source : NZ Warriors
Auckland, New Zealand, April 23, 2012 - Pita Godinet and Glen Fisiiahi have been included in a 19-man squad for the Vodafone Warriors’ eighth-round NRL match against the Storm at AAMI Park in Melbourne on Anzac Day (Wednesday). Head coach Brian McClennan said the pair had been added as cover for Kiwi internationals Manu Vatuvei and halfback Shaun Johnson.
Vatuvei and Johnson, both feeling the effects of Friday night’s 12-20 Anzac Test loss to Australia, didn’t train with the Vodafone Warriors yesterday but have both been named to start in the traditional Anzac Day match against Melbourne.
Brought back into the team travelling to Melbourne later...
Hard not to pick Maloney, but Matulino engaged BEAST mode.
Post your examples:
So, prematch vs Souuffs:
Apparently the Rabbitohs "came into fruition" in 1906.
They better win.
