Other than Gavet which props would be better than him on our roster

That's what I find interesting about this debate. People need to realise that unless we sign someone else we will go into next season with Bull as our senior prop.

Once Ben Matulino goes he will head a pack that consists of James Gavet (27), Sam Lisone (23), Leivaha Pulu (27). Those are our only confirmed signings for next season. Out of those last 3 Sam Lisone has played almost more NRL games than Gavet and Pulu put together. Those three have a collective total of 116 games. Average of 39 each. Bull has 240 games under his belt. We are going to need his experience more than ever next season...

Waiting For Premiership 1st Grade Fringe

The Newcastle Knights have signed Warriors prop Jacob Lillyman on a one-year deal for the 2018 season.

The 33-year-old former Cowboys and Queensland forward brings plenty of experience to the Knights with 14 State of Origin matches to his name.

"Newcastle is a good young team on the up and I'm really looking forward to getting over there and getting stuck in," Lillyman told the Link has been hidden. Please Register to view..

"I think the Knights have got some great young players, especially in the forwards, and I am keen to help them in their development.

"Newcastle is a very proud rugby league region and town and I can't wait to experience that first hand."

Id rather have him next year than not have him, crazy move from the club and I think a lot more people will realise this when hes running for 120-150m for the knights next year

I know he's not a lot of people's favourite and has coped a lot of criticism over the last few years while we have struggled up front. But he has been a great servant to the club over the years. We struggle to get Australians over here and he we have one that has been here for nearly 10 years.

I can understand the club moving him on. We haven't made the finals since 2011, we have struggled up front. It is fair enough the club has looked at someone who plays in the middle and has been here that whole time.

A few years at a new club could prove refreshing for him to finish his career.

Victim of the process one can only assume. Im guessing his asking price was a little high for what the club wanted. Being a rep player he's guaranteed a set amount...

Was averaging 6 more metres a game this season than Matalino.

Actually have no idea where are metres are going to come from next year, we have lost our props who can run for over 100 metres

He is often mentioned as a particularly funny man and makes a lot of jokes. Maybe that's being seen as unprofessional at the club now?

Ive always had massive respect for Lillyman for doing the hard work without the glory. He never shirked his role of being the guy to cart it up the middle. He wasnt flashy, and i get that it was easy to disrespect his work ethic as he didnt score the tries himself. But he was a real team player. Without him the warriors will be diminished. Thats a lot of meters that someone else is going to have to make now.

Does anyone else find it strange how desperate some people seem to be about keeping together the powerhouse warriors of 2012-2017 who averaged 9 wins a year?

Keep trotting out the same team, keep getting the same results.

Been a great servant, but 33 years old and its about time someone else stepped into his role - dying with the ball on tackle 4.

I was hoping for Change. Glad to see the back of some of the.players I just think that it's a year to soon for Lillyman. Unlike others his game has improved this year.

Yes it isnt like we have replaced him with anyone, we desperately need props so we let our best prop go and dont replace him.

    Crazy stuff.
