    Danpatmac Warriors 1st Grader

Matt Allwood and Sebastine Ikahihifo have both been recalled for the Vodafone Warriors’ 25th-round NRL encounter with Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Sunday (2.00pm kick-off local time; 4.00pm NZT).

Allwood (22) has been named on the wing for just his second NRL appearance of the season while Ikahihifo (24) replaces the injured Jacob Lillyman at prop.

There’s one other change to the starting line-up used against North Queensland last Saturday with Bodene Thompson returning to the back row after making his comeback appearance from the bench against the Cowboys.

After joining the club from Canberra, Allwood scored in his Vodafone Warriors debut against Brisbane in March. An ankle injury later sidelined him during a campaign in which he has made 11 appearances for the club’s finals-bound New South Wales Cup side. He has been 18th man for the NRL side the past two weeks.

Ikahihifo has played predominantly in the NSW Cup this year but now returns for his eighth NRL outing of the season while Thompson’s inclusion ensures the experienced combination in the back row with Simon Mannering and Ryan Hoffman is fully restored.

After debuting as Vodafone Warrior No 202 last weekend, Mason Lino is again in the halves with his former Marist Saints club-mate Tuimoala Lolohea.

“It’s pleasing to see Matt being given a chance. He has put the work in and deserves this,” said Vodafone Warriors assistant coach Andrew Webster.

“With Jake (Lillyman) out and Ben (Matulino) still suspended we’re missing a huge amount of experience in the front row but we know what Seb will give us and Albie (Vete) was really impressive with the way he kept pushing through and turning up against the Cowboys.

“I always smile when players like Mason make their debut. He was really calm the way he approached the game and showed lots of nice touches. You can see that he and Tui have a lot of understanding having come through the grades together.”

For Webster and Thompson this week’s clash will be a homecoming of sorts with both joining the Vodafone Warriors this season from Wests Tigers.

After six losses on end Webster said the players and coaching staff were desperate to atone for the recent run of reverses.

They face a Wests Tigers side sitting last on the table on 18 points with both teams coming off heavy defeats, the Tigers losing 18-40 to Cronulla last Saturday and the Vodafone Warriors going down 16-50 to the Cowboys.

The Vodafone Warriors have had mixed results on their few visits to Campbelltown Sports Stadium. They have played there only eight times in total, winning twice and losing twice to Western Suburbs and boasting the same record in four encounters with Wests Tigers. They won 28-16 there on their road to the minor premiership in 2002; their next visit – and their most recent – ended in a heavy loss in 2010. The Vodafone Warriors will have only two survivors this week from that defeat (Mannering and Sione Lousi) while Robbie Farah and Chris Lawrence were in the winning Tigers line-up.

In April the Vodafone Warriors beat the Tigers 32-22 at Mount Smart Stadium to give them an overall record of 13 wins and 11 losses in 24 matches between the two clubs.

Would like to have seen Maumalo move to the bench and be given an impact role just to see how he handles the middle, but aside from that our options are very limited.

Thank God Mason Lino is in the halves again.

No quote from McFadden, only from Webster, asst coach. Is something going on?

    No.

Webster was a former coach for the Tigers, that's why he was quoted so it could add a lead in to that angle.

Peyroux and Kata in the centres.. those guys were not good last week

At the start of the year people were talking up the Warriors roster, like most years. Looking at that team you'd have to say its a C team by NRL standards, that whole backline is NSW Cup quality. Same with that forward pack with the exception of the back row

That is one god awful side...

I'm not saying Cappy has gone full retard, but I can see like 6 legitimate first graders. That's nothing compared to our top side.

I'd like the tigers to win the spoon because they've never won it before - but they'll beat us this weekend. Thankfully we're probably just out of reach ourselves.

I feel a bit sorry for Maumalo - yes he didn't have the greatest of games last week but surely his confidence must be shot, would have like to see him in the forwards off the bench instead of lousy - he does run up hard and he's a big boy to handle in the forwards.

Sad we're talking about the spoon, but it would take a freaky set of circumstances for us to win the spoon.

Raiders V Panthers, Raiders V Eels, Panthers V Knights alone should see those teams below us taking enough points off each other to keep us away from the spoon.

I would have Titans as the favourites at this point only fractionally ahead of the Knights because I think the Knights are playing well enough to beat Penrith,

Well dont matter what team goes out on the park. The damage has been done the clubs too unprofessional. And so are most of its players some seniors included. So its a waste of time discussing about whos playing or not. Better off supporting another club till this one gets its act together. Be better for the heart and nervous system too...

Gee and we were light on experience before.

The back row looks good again but up front we are light on experience. Interesting Ikahihifo jumped Gubb and Lisone for the start, the other two can provide some impact off the bench. I know I'm clutching at straws but I need something to give me some home.o_O

Hopefully some coaching has been done on the edge defence. The Tigers won't work us over as well as Thurston did but the way things are going Brooks, Moses and Tedesco will find points against us.

Hopefully more of the first 12 minutes and less of the last 68.

I know the time zone is in our favour but looking at Zero Tackle we are the only side named. At least we won something.;)

Being the away side we should get to run out first as well.;)

Hmmm I wonder if we could come up with some Disney trick plays to score some points.

You know like hiding the ball, pretending a shoe is the ball, dressing up as a referee?

I would have started Gubb ahead of Seb just to show that effort has rewards, Gubb 2.0 has one of the best in a dire time.
I would have also thrown Konnie a start against a Tigers team struggling almost as much as we are.
