Two teams that want to win and giving it 100%.

That's all you can ask for.

Bloody offloads. Someone needs to teach our mob this trick.

They're grubby, but against the Storm who invented grubbiness I'm not complaining.

Storm are professional grubs but Sharks are just filth with undeniable talent. Fifita's taken the marker out with niggle every time he plays the ball which renders the first marker ineffective.

Negative play from Munster, should've gone for a repeat set.

Fuck Holmes blew that play. Love how neither team is giving up. Warriors would have got pumped by either team tonight...

Good thing for you it wasn't up.

Well done Storm. No Cooper Cronk, playing away at Sharkie land, no worries.

Storm wins it. Great scrambling defence at the end there.

One of the games of the year. Storm almost got punished for two negative plays to try and waste time but they were out on their feet. Slater outplayed Holmes for the Maroons fullback spot but not by much. You'd want both in the Qld team.

He and Matulino should put the skip step away and run harder and sharper into contact so they can play the ball quicker. I know they're doing it to break the rhythm of the run and hoping to upset the timing of the defender but they're both too tall and lanky for it IMO.

I would actually say the same for SJ. He has a bit of a sideway skip. Just run it straight and hit the line son.

Tui Lolohea also has an annoying skip. Saw it quite a few times against the dragon when he should have pin his ears back and run.

Its this small attention to detail that dumbfounds me why/how its overlooked by the coaching staff at Warriors. How is it we see this flaws and they dont? What am i missing?

sorry, I'm on a rant again....

The skip isn't a flaw, it's a tactic to upset the defenders timing and one that's served Bromich and Matulino well over the years. I do think that defenders are tapping into the skip now knowing that it's coming in every run from both of them. Change it up a bit and keep the defenders guessing, skipping on every 2nd or 3rd run will do that. In SJ it's also a tactic as he does it infrequently but for Tui it's become a bad habit and it makes most of his runs less effective.

I coach the skip out of the kids in the team I work with, when I see it creeping into their game. Or try to anyway. For forwards I use late footwork before the line, especially the smaller ones. The bigger forwards need to run straight and low, getting them to bend their knees in attack and defense is most of the battle. For backs I try to get them using stutter steps instead of skips but only a few can do it instinctively and remember to do it in the game.
