Good to see the Broncos still take these contests seriously, long held tradition that, stand up to the New Zealanders.

Funny how a loss suddenly means the Coach doesn't know what he's doing with the Bench.

Those guys lost not because of a poor bench. The Broncos were up for this, it's not like we were winning the battle of momentum from the start then went to shit when the reserves came on...

The players looked burnt out from the start. it looked like the type of flat performance which signals something in the prep has gone wrong...they looked like Athletes that have over trained (not saying that is the cause. just using that example) they were bloody flat.

As others have pointed out, we got out coached with the targeting of our back five, not those guys fault, the Broncos used to do that to Manu Vatuvei...go for him deliberately where other teams would kick away from the guy...I did not think anyone would be able to stop tackle two then three....but they did it...amazing defense.

Our Kick chase on the other hand was poor.

The Broncos scored so many times because frankly our blokes didn't bring the great defensive coaching they have been receiving and deliver it with commitment. That might sound like cliche, but the only reason the Warriors have been hard to crack, is because they have put the technique part and the effort part, as their highest priority.

As folk have pointed out there was no running in numbers, now that can only be explained by the players assuming they were going to have an easy one.

Right from the start our three man tackles were missing, there was no swarming in numbers to gang up on the runners, and the way the Broncos were playing, that is when you need it most.

No need to panic. They were always going to go into next week the underdogs any way, at least they face that game with their eyes open.

It will be interesting to see what SK does this week, they have set very high standards and there is no bullshit allowed, there will be consequences, it's part of their new go.

Who would be a coach ? your fate is tied to the give a shit factor of your players.

I'm pleased we have our hardest game in a few days, there is nowhere to hide from it, and it will do these guys some good.

Make tackles and work hard on defence....and they win that game....it's not hard to see where they went wrong.

At least they have set a standard this year and they know how to fix this.

Any team has to get beaten at some stage in the season. It will be a sharp reminder and hopefully put players on notice.

For some reason we didn't turn up tonight with the same intensity and energy as previous games this season - looked a bit flat. And certainly didn't turn up for each other in defence with the same commitment - the missed tackle count compared with the Broncos was pretty bad. So have to work on getting that energy back.

That said, it wasn't all down to us being off our game, the Broncos has a good night. I've rarely seen such an error-free performance by any team. Very disciplined, came with a plan (which included pushing their luck with offside with their line speed), and hustled for the points better than we did. Bit of mongrel in that pack, too.

Not that a it's huge comfort, but at least we didn't go down by a wide margin, and never looked like being blown away, so the points difference has held up alright despite the loss. Unlike the past few years, when if we lost we sometimes lost big and carried the weight of an awful points difference when it came to scrapping for the last places in the eight. We're tougher than we used to be, though outclassed tonight.

Some good individual performances - Tohu Harris is one class act, and Paasi caught my eye several times.

Ah well, never mind, if you'd told me last year we'd be 5 - 1 after six weeks, I'd have been over the moon. But we'll need to fire up the motivation again for the big one next Friday.

SJ ignored Kakariki on a few occasions. Blake was waving his arms around calling for the ball. And SJ crabbed across field before passing it under pressure. Fu*ked me off!
It's not your team anymore princess. It's Blake's! If he calls for it. Give it! Also, He was so lazy in Dee. Couldn't be bothered covering his outsides. Hoping for someone else to make the desperation tackles.
Hiku, stop arm grabbing! You're better than that.

Really disappointing tonight. Still proud as punch. We've proved a lot of people wrong with this start to the season.

I hope Vete , Papalii(If available) CNK and Lino get a run next week. Shift Fus to centre with CNK on the flank. Maumalo swaps to Hiku's side.
Would like to see v Dragons

I gave an A for the Broncos and the Wayne Bennett game plan.

Give a C for the Warriors, with Tohu Harris having his worst game in the Jersey yet, with Lethargy and some miss tackles. Why start with Lisone? Johnson went missing again when badly needed. Back to Earth Major Tom!

A couple of others have already mentioned this however I thought Green completely overplayed his hand tonight. Result was that the backline looked bunched and aside from RTS, looked ordinary.

That aside, the reality is we've played 2.5 good games (actually 2.5 excellent games against the Rabbits, Roosters and first half of the Cowboys) and the rest has only been average. This loss will be good for the team and hopefully they fire up for the Dragons.

Just a quick thought throwing out . If a team can destroy the Roosters and play very nice quick plays OR would you rather have a MIA player whos payed lots of cash just to very occasionally be involved and watch your team lose. SK drop SJ for fuck sake..

I only saw the first 15mins but you could see that the energy and impetus was not there. They really lacked the oomph we had seen in previous games and it sounds like the poor start was hard to redress.
I think the bench and front row need to be tweaked.

Have the boys lost their mojo already?

That is the question and this is a good reality check....

They need to figure out how to reset mentally and prepare for the next two weeks against the dragons and storm. If we drop these games it’s back to square one.....

The pitch forks will be out...

The opening exchanges you could see the Broncos were up for this. We were losing the battle for field position and they didn't relent for the entire 80.

It still seemed like we had a pretty good completion rate. The main issues were the poor defensive efforts which was down to individual efforts, previous weeks the side missed tackles but scrambled so well that others would make up for the miss. The other issues was the battle for field position which we lost pretty badly.

If we are an improving side this performance would be an exception and we get stuck in next week.

Still a few similar problems to the last few years. It is hard for a half to guide a team around the field when your losing the battle up front.

A shame we came out so flat. It would of been good to take advantage of the 3 home games and not travelling to Australia and back.

Does Gelling not do any passing practice ....shit house !!! one arm drunk blind geriatric could pass better>>

needs some game time in NSW Cup ....guess he might well take Kata position if he's out

Broncos played well but if we played even 80% as well as we did last week we would have won ...

Can only hope the boys get a good thrashing at practice for it... and dump the dragons next week

Not so much disappointed that we lost, was really how we lost - no urgency and looking slightly lethargic - as others have noted on here Tevaga playing too many minutes and doesn't offer much and don't get me started on Lisone........ Would like to see Lawton sometime in the mix but not sure when he is actually due back.

He'd be jealous as his side was only 2-6. Only won 6 more games that season. Maybe he was right though we would know how well the side would go by round 6. He didn't say what year.;)

Hopefully we have a team now used to winning, gutted now that they have experienced losing again. Everyone refocuses during the week look at what the Broncos did, where we didn't aim up and we see a return to form next week.

Next week against the Dragons is still an interesting contest. If where are off on that one they could work us over the same way or worse seeing as they are in form.

    Stalefish540 .....

One word sums up that performance, and right from the first set mind you - IMPOTENT.

If you don't show up in the NRL willing to physically match your opponent, and put your body on the line you will get licked. That scoreline was extremely flattering, we were completely out muscled.

If we met them physically then we would have had no problem matching a halves combo of Milf/Bird. 39 missed tackles, take that jersey grabbing soft cock attitude back to 2017 and bury it.

Don't mind losing when the team puts in, but that was extremely dissapointing. Corvo better slap some sense into them this week at training.

    Fair enough too.
Well that has been blown apart. We are in the shit next week at left center unless Beale is miraculously fully good to go, he is a veteran so coming in cold is something he is used to...still I prefer we keep our cool and probably pull Roger till his arm is fully right (that's assuming he's still carrying an injury) and introduce Beale after some ISP time.
Beale will fix a lot of what went wrong tonight, even before Gelling came on...every time the ball goes to that left side (remembering Pulu's not there) you fear that the left will screw up and turn over the ball.

Mannering has always been a worry with passing, Kata meant you can't imagine ball movement on the left, Ken we never find out what he can do...

That's just wrong...fearing the use of the ball on one edge.

The left has always been a dumping ground at the Warriors (post 2004) the left is where they send players that are questionable ball players...the short side is really short at the Warriors.

Beale changes all of that and he gives them genuine options, opens up that corridor for someone like Green to use properly.

Hope Kata is ok, gee he looked to have a serious injury.

If Ayshford is fit I would like to see him help Beale by Ayshford starting in Kata;s place and letting Beale come back in from the bench. Ayshford has played backrow and done quite well there in the past.
