Nice to end the Hoodoo. Just need to get the Dragons.

Wore my Blues Jersey earlier - that worked. Tried the same with my Warriors Jersey, result. Looks like I'll have to keep wearing these for games.

Win #1 on the board. Got very ugly in the end, but then again the boys are playing at 1am.

    GG Hurrell and Rapira.

    Martel and Nielson?

    1. Nielsen still can't pass and is getting worse on D.
    2. Hurrell is a beast.
    3. Manu is the best back under the high ball.
    4. Ropo is probably done.
    5. Townsend is getting better

Awesome to get the win, but we did try to lose it at the end.

Still seeing Manu getting done on the outside again was scary at the very end there.

Just stoked to get the 2 points, but wish we didn't put ourselves under so much pressure at the finish.

Loved the look from Townsend to Friend after that shitty pass with 5 to go. Really love watching Mannering tackle when he gets them in his grip and gets his head down it is hard to get away from him.

    Well done guys, good win

Rapira and Lillyman joint man of the match for mineā€¦ they were absolutely herculean for us.

Geez, don't know how many more of those types of games I can take.

    Stoked for the boys.

I would advocate playing Konnie as an impact front rower but Dane/Ropati are way too dog shit.

Johnsons kicking game and defence was awesome. Hurrell is a tank.

Good tough resilient win to end a hoodoo and get the season started. Well done boys

yeah, a win is a win. Lots of lucky breaks and calls for us but it's been a long hoodoo.

Good to see SJ running at the line tonight. Needs to mix is up to keep the defenders guessing.

Martel was very avg tonight, but otherwise all the forwards looked great including Konnie!

MoM has to be either Lillyman or Raps I think.

players who I thought carried our team to victory:
best defensive player in the world (Mannering)
    Nielsens defense on the edge
Townsend, all round effort and loved the way he blew up at friends shit pass
    All our props
SJ stood up and defended well against taumalolo and applied himself better.

everyone else was good to average but we definitely need a nippy hooker for impact. Konnie needs fitness but impact off the bench as prop/backrow was goo to see.

Maybe I'll have to watch again, but I think it was more that Nielsen was off and Hurrell was defending with Manu that caused the chaos at the end.

Stoked with the win, Lillyman was epic, Rapira was great too. Also thought SJ made some good strides forward in that game. Would love to see more of his low, raking kicks as the season progresses. Far better than bombs. Hurrell looked like a great impact forward. ST looks like a lightweight, others (not me) thought that would be a problem when he first signed... perhaps they were right. Mateo ran with intensity in the 1st half

Hurrell's energy off the bench was explosive and just the tonic we needed.

wow...how good was that...that was something else...commitment in defence was amazing...I havent seen that since that first half against south sydney last year

All the forwards we good...lousi...mateo included. Bukuya and Johnson are forming a bit of a partnership

Townsend played pretty well...not perfect, but decent game. If Leulai is available next week I guess he comes in for Hurrell who was really struggling today...I dont think his fitness if upto 1st grade yet

but what an awesome game it was.....

What a game from Sam Rapira- Lillyman was good too but Sammy was inspirational.
Loved the way he took on tamou- there was a bit of a running battle there and Sammy got the better of it ( wonder if there's some ill felling coz tamou broke his brothers jaw when they were living together?)

When I realised Hurrell was in the forwards I was worried, but he was brilliant in that impact role. Certainly gives us another option.

Hopefully that will inspire Laumape to pick up his game as well. We'd be hard to contain.
