I am not putting any stock in this and believe he is on track for round 8, but the odd article keeps coming up about Beale being back much sooner and that he could even be in consideration for tomorrow's team sheet against the broncos

    Beale'S BOOST
The news just gets better for the New Zealand Warriors with premiership-winning centre Gerard Beale confident of making his return as soon as next week.

Beale suffered a broken leg last October while playing for the Kiwis against Samoa.

But the former Cronulla outside back has impressed during his recovery and is eyeing a return next weekend against another one of his former clubs, Brisbane

Kearney is now saying "about three weeks" for Beale

The other interesting thing is the quote from Maumalo that implies Beale is being eyed up for a wing spot rather than centre?

As long as Beale earns the spot and Maumalo loses it through poor performances than I'll be happy but there is no way Maumalo deserves to lose his place at the moment. No one in the backline does...

At this stage Beale would come onto bench for Gelling imo.

Maumalo has been great this year. His metres are invaluable and he really hurts the opposition.

    Sup42 "Dave"

    Ken said "Potentially".
I take that as meaning no one can take their spots for granted with Beale being a genuine Center Wing.
Ken's right anyway, before this purple patch of form, I thought Beale was brought here to play and that if anyone is vulnerable it is Ken or Kata.

Solomone has had a mixed bag, if anyone should see Beale as a threat to their spot its him ( short term while Kata perfects that draw and pass, and to give him a message about some of the silly stuff)., again in the short term it will be very tempting to have a very experienced man on the left edge....one Green horn...one long term senior guy....it certainly helps David Fusitua.

Long term you should hope Kata and or Ken are the solution

Kata is great at meter eating ....so that bench spot Gelling has, would suit a high energy explosive impact role for Kata ( I'm not talking ten minutes a game....more like twenty minimum).

I flip flop on Beale every day.

They say don't change a winning team, so that is my current feeling. But if we have lost 1 or 2 by round 8 and then I would switch him in.

Kearney in the presser says he expects a prognosis (is that the right word?) on Kata and Pulu within 24 hours. I expect by Monday there will be news as to the duration of their injuries. Stuff.co.nz reported that the injuries "looked" serious. And Kearney also confirmed Pulu was taken to hospital.

Been told Pulu has broken his ankle and will be out for some time. Is it 6 weeks usually???

Depends on the type of break. If he needs surgery then likely longer.

Great. Never liked that guy. Makes too many meters, doesn’t miss enough tackles and has a awesome attitude. Never fit in here

How's a broken ankle going to affect Pulu's agility on the edge?

The cast might slow him down a bit but it depends what colour he gets. Red with flames will only make him faster

Rusty. Looked like a ISP player. That’s my other concern. There’s at least 6 FG players in that team but they all
Look like ISP players. Nobody really stands out.

Apart from a drop on his very first hit up he was otherwise solid.

Don't know whether he's ready to slot straight back in to first grade. Would rather him stay in ISP for another week.
