If he arrives who would play left and who would play and who would be the dominant kicker?

He likes to get his hands on the ball. Not sure he would survive 4 years under clause 78A of the process:

"Left centre must never pass ball to an unmarked left wing in opposition half. Only when left wing is marked by 2 defenders and they are within 1 metre of sideline in own half should they receive the ball."

Golden point games don't come often enough either...

    2018 Squad

    1. RTS (113 first class club games)
    2. Fusitua (56)
    3. Ayshford (158)
    4. Beal (162)
    5. Hiku (89)
    6. Green (205)
    7 Johnson (143)
    8 Gavet (36)
    9 Luke (231)
    10 Vete (44)
    11 Mannering (280)
    12 Harris (114)
    13 Blair (264)

    14 Roach (20)
    15 Lisone (62)
    16 Pulu (45)
    17 Sao (34)

    Ave 121 games per player...

Our Front Row for 2018 currently averages 44 games each with Jibrone as our most capped prop, and he's not even a prop.. So I'm obviously not loving this ATM. But that's the best I can think off with who've we've supposedly got.

Compare this with the team from round 1 2017 (as they stand today)...

    1. RTS (113)
    2 Lolohea (65)
    3 Fusitua (56)
    4 Kata (63)
    5 Maumalo (33)
    6 Hingano (15)
    7 Johnson (143)
    8 Vete (44)
    9 Luke (231)
    10 Gubb (39)
    11 Afoa (20)
    12 Hoffman (339)
    13 Mannering (280)

    14 Lillyman (251)
    15 Lisone (62)
    16 Papalii (5)
    17 Thompson (133)

    Ave 98 games per player...

We're already light years ahead of where we've been these last few years..:D

Having Beale and Hiku is a game changer, solid dependable players gives the backline a far more solid look. Selection is the key. Ken Maumalo was actually looking really good at times with Ayshford as his inside. Kata threw him under the bus.

Three players I expect to make big in roads next year are Papalii, Afoa and Vete. With Corvo I expect them to have big pre seasons.

Two players who could go either way are Kata and Luke. With the roster now Kata's weaknesses cannot be overlooked anymore. I suspect Luke will be overtaken by Cherrington and Roache. He must know the threat, how will he react.?

We have NRL quality players in every position as backup. However, that is only useful if the team is picked on form.

The team will be picked according to Kearney's process. The same way Kata was picked for every game he was available for, next year he won't get picked ahead of Beale or Hiku unless either of them is getting traded out due to them not playing to their ability.

Getting dropped from the first grade team equals getting punted from the club. That's a part of the process that I really like.

Luke better play well, cause if he's fit and playing reserves, he's as good as gone.

If we manage to secure the services of Green, then along with Blair that boosts our leadership group heading into next season. It might be a bit extreme to take the captaincy away from Tuivasa-Sheck in its entirety, but a co-captaincy with one of those two may be just be an option, particularly with Tuivasa-Sheck's continued reservations about the role. Co-captaincy seems to be working pretty well for the Eels and Roosters this year.

Sounds logical and would be what almost every fan wants but I'm not 100% positive we will see Kata drop off for either Beale or Hiku. We're in for a very interesting preseason and trial period...

Kata is interesting. He is a weapon, a very good player, he has it all, but he does not carry out the core roles of a Centre. I could see him working well with someone like Beale. IMO he is too good to discartd to this point.

Kata had a putrid year on defense and was very innefective on attack, looks out of shape and slow.

Just stop and think, even when Kata was at his peak in 2016 he still wasn't playing a centre role and feeding his winger. Manus attack was as unavailable as kens. Either hes a midget winger or he can fuck off out of the squad. If he can't draw and pass after 3 years in the nrl, throw him to the wolves.

Kata is overweight, has said publicly he is barely interested, has an incredibly poor rugby league brain, and an even worse basic handling and passing skillset.

What does it do for team culture and morale when he still gets selected? What message does it send to the other guys who are sweating blood to try and make first grade?

If u pick Blair at prop where he'll actually be playing that stat changes drastically.

Maybe we could convince the Hurricanes to do a swap? Kata for Laumape?

Laumape probably has nightmares where he wakes up in a sweat thinking he is still at the Warriors. Then he remembers everything is OK:)

I'm actually feeling fairly comfortable with our potential 2018 squad (if/when Green and Blair are confirmed). You can put the team into 2x 17 man teams (first grade and ISP)... with 30 of the 34 having first grade experience.

Some good depth and our ISP side would continue to have a strong side. Even better if we can bring another first grade Prop into the squad.

I just looked at the stats an we are all relying way to much on our veteran 36 match prop
it's a credit to him , But in a normal team he would be adding value off the bench , Still I recon
    he's up for it

Agree with you entirely, but I bet Kearney will keep selecting him.

My centres and wings would be made up of:

    Fus
    Beale
    Hiku
    Maumalo
    CNK
    Ayshford

before Kata gets a look in.
