I am of the opinion that we need Harris in the back row more than we need a 5/8 ... happy to put a fridge freezer in the 6 as long as the pack is sorted

So left field here, but Blake green resigns with manly and we don't have a pro 6 for next year.
If Ata's not quite ready for fg 6 , could Luke be our 6 with Roache as our 9?

I have only ever seen him play 9 , but he can run has a short to medium kicking game and is defensively solid, probably wouldn't get caught offside as much around marker too because of the lessened defensive impact.

    Am I mad?

Tohu is not a 6 (hes a backrower) so if they decided to do that we would most definitely be favourites for the spoon.

Certainly worth throwing the idea out there. Interestingly Roache started the U20s at five-eighth before being moved to hooker, so could his name be thrown into the mix too, using Luke and Cherrington as our hookers in the 17? At a stretch Pita Hiku could play five-eighth as well.

Ultimately though if we cant snare an experienced five-eighth, rather than experiment with more players out of position we are probably going to have to take the gamble with Ata in the hope he excels as the season goes on, even if we get games early on like the one we saw in Dunedin where his pairing with Johnson was ineffective. At least this year they would have the entire off-season to work together with no Foran "will he or won't he play" distraction.

Might just be an option, as long as the fridge doesn't stock cans of V.

S, K picked Hiku to play 6 for their kiwis .So I can't see him not being
in Kearneys team , Unless Ata forces him to change his mind , Or Lino
That big question I have got is where do we see Ken M play this season ?

Am really hoping we manage to pick up Johnny Tuivasa Sheck who is a more natural winger than Maumalo. Looks super fit and can bust a few dance moves too if anyone saw the Footy Show Grand Final special the other night. I haven't seen any news of him recommitting to the Roosters for next season (someone please update me if there is fresh news) so if he does end up coming over I'd like to see him on the left wing and Maumalo playing of the bench as a second rower. If that doesn't eventuate then we'll have to persist with Maumalo's development on the wing and hope he grows into the role. He did improve as the season went on and it was far from his fault with some of the happenings down that left edge.

According to zerotackle.com, JTS is still off contract for next season.

Lino is ahead of Hingano in the halves for next season IMO.

    Better kicking/passing/organizing game.

We don't need two running halves.

    So back 5 2018?

    1.Roger
    2.beale
    3.peta
    4.Kata
    5.fus

I know nobody wants Kata , but I think that's what rnd1 will look like.
Poor ken, hopefully he becomes a second rower.

I like that. At least opposition players have to mark those guys rather than being able to ignore players like Ayshford and jam in

Maybe swap beale and fus , just so Kata isn't the most experienced player on his side

I'm expecting hiku to play 6 next year.
Kata and Beale in the centers, fus and ken on the wings.
Won't be popular but that's the way I see Kearney going.

Well it's the same coaching staff ( with iro doin the sideways shuffle) so can't see much changing.
They've shown their hand- plenty of faith in Kata, none in Ata.

We will be flat out avoiding the spoon next year. Any injuries and we are in a world of trouble.

I agree with you about them injuries
But I see us being way more aggressive
in the forwards , Depends on the reserves
who an how they are used ,
an a lot more shape in the back line both
    on attack an defense
But forward depth is nonexistent if injuries occur
