The 13's looking stronger particularly defensively through the middle. We obviously still need that 10 + meters per carry forward to get us over the advantage line, that'll help Luke's game.

I'd like to see more experience in our forwards coming off the bench, Sammy Raps would be ideal if he comes back and still rips in like I remember.

The issue I have is whether we can afford a big bodied forward or two and an experienced five eight, key positions we're still short in.

I'd solve the 10 mtr forward problem with Satae. And have him defending beside Mannering. Power and technique working together...

He's a big human with a strong carry but I doubt he'll come out of preseason as an NRL standard player, he was playing Fox memorial for pt. Chev only last season.

SK seems to like him which is a good sign. managed to get a few games in the back end of the season there. With a good off season he might be able to step up to the plate, or at least offer another option if form slumps or injuries hit.

surprised Rapira is only 30(1 year younger than Blair), Sam's biggest problem was his injuries, he was always quality when he could stay on the park, he's strung quite a few games together for huddersfied(46 in 2 years) so maybe he has them under control? if so I'd offer him a contract

Rapira was busted when he left us. Maybe a few years at lower intensity he'll be okay again, but I'd stay away.

15-17. Pick 3 out of Vete/Afoa/Satae/Pulu/Papali'i/Sao/whoever's playing well in ISP.

I think Maumalo is a bit of a punching bag on here sometimes. With another year of improvement and outside a better centre he should be fine. Not gonna cry if someone like a JTS or Pauga get a go there though.

I'm really warming to the idea of Lisone as an edge backrower. He's actually got really good acceleration and decent skills for a forward but it's wasted in the middle. Get him running off Johnson and he'll be a threat.

The bench is the big weakness in that side plus I'm still a long way from convinced on Hingano

Lisone gets carved to pieces in the middle, he'd be a disaster defensively on the edge imo.
I'd like to see Harris and Mannering as our edge backrowers next year

    14. Roache
    15. Pulu
    16. Lisone
    17. Sipley/Afoa/Satae/Sao/Big Prop

    Forwards
Mannering and Harris locking up our edges
Pulu takes the minutes Blair can't play
4 line bending props to rotate through the game (Pulu to cover 4th prop if needed)

    Backs
Back 3 are strong ball runners and good in the air
Defensive centres that strengthen edge defense and can distribute efficiently to wingers
Johnson has the long kicking game while Lino has the effective short kicking game. Lino also straightens the attack to provide room for Johnson during set plays

    mt.wellington ABOVE THE LINE

    1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck - obvious selection but wanna see the captaincy go to someone else so he can just concentrate on playing his game.
    2. David Fusitua - Huge fan of having him at centre but his aerial skills are just too damn good.
    3. Blake Ayshford - Best centre we had this year. Reliable. Does his job.
    4. Gerald Beale - He's going to be in the mix somewhere and I've never liked Solomone Kata at centre.
    5. Zac Santo - Anyone but Ken Maumalo. These sitional experiments have to stop.
    6. Ata Hingano - Heir apparent and has been groomed for the role for two years now.
    7. Shaun Johnson
    8.
    9. Issac Luke - If he can play more like his last 2-3 games he'll finally be worth the signing. Need more consistency from him.
    10. James Gavet - Our best prop now with no one else better in the squad.
    11. Bodene Thompson - Still rate Bo and while he's been cold this year he is a very capable player. His partnership with SJ will only get better.
    12. Simon Mannering (c) - Time to get our real captain in his rightful role. Juju is a good ball player when he is allowed to be. Time to bring back the offload.
    13. Adam Blair - Ball player, tackling, ball runner = Lock. Not prop.

    14. Nathaniel Roache - Must continue his apprentice. Will replace Luke eventually once he's gone assuming he can remain injury free.
    15. Leivaha Pulu - Want both him, Vete and Lisone to come on and unleash hell on tiring players. At least two of them can play 2nd row or lock. Wanna go back to having a 3 man bench prop instead of carrying a utility back.
    16. Sam Lisone
    17. Albert Vete

Missed out a prop cause we really are missing a quality starting prop. At the very least I'd like to see Jacob Lillyman take the spot. Reality is it will probably be Sam Lisone with Bunty Afoa to the bench and Vete being replaced by Jazz Tevaga...

14 Roach Not a bad wee hobbit , The original used to bring it when he got
on the field mean on Defense an used to rark it up on attack I think we missed
him more than anyone realized , Just not at fullback ,
    15 Ken M
    16 ?
    17 ?

I think SK will play Kata an Beale as our centers
An will play Adam Blair at prop ,
Do you guys seriously think Ken is a Winger?
I do know he is a First Grade NRL player
But I'd sort of expect to see him in the forwards
at some stage ,Am I dreaming or is the transition difficult?

Seriously all we need is a functioning defense and we're in with a punchers chance.

Is that better than an offload?
