Corvo should slot in to the starting 13 somewhere...at least he'll be fit

Well personally I think half his offloads are dog shit but if that's what you're worried about have a look at this

Note 7 of the top 10 off loaders this year are middle players.
The games moved away from off loading edge forwards- their role is more to hit the holes.

Yep Kearney has got my attention ,in my opinion we have signed well ,
a trainer that is world class , So he's addressed our fitness issues
hopefully the systems they put in place work for us ,
this should help us in getting our up an comers up to first grade
standard , If we can get an environment where our young players
develope we will see longterm success
on our player signings We are doing alright , Sure NAS or Graham
would be great but the players signed have the potential to address
some of our on field issues.
For this team we needed more experience an we've got it in a
couple of different positions ,So the only question now SK has
Some able troops can he coach them ,An motivate them
    we have got talent ,

I have to agree with you on Lisone. His pace and ball playing make for a great edge forward. Problem is his defense isn't anywhere near First Grade for the edge and he doesn't look like he understands basic back line structures. He's Kata with a bigger frame imo, and not interested in 1% footy. Too small to play prop and just a disaster waiting to happen on the edge. Anywhere in first grade is him playing out of position IMO.

I'd stick him in reserve grade on the edge for a couple of years and see what he makes of himself..

Interesting that we have 3 great left edge forwards in the team now. Harris will probably get that spot. Does this mean Thompson is here to stay?

In 19 games he made 658 tackles and missed 38, 34 & 2 per game..

    Mannering made 986 and missed 33, 45 & 1.5 per game...

I like the idea of Mannering looking after SJ one the right as his body-gurad,,,,, running angles and creating opportunities for SJ to cut through the line. He's much better at that role than Thompson IMO. And with Fus and Sheck working outside SJ we don't need an attacking genius for our edge forward.

    My amended team:

Right edge: SJ, Mannering, Hiku and Fus will score a lot of tries and leak very few IMO...

Left Edge: Lino, Harris, Beal and Maumalo is similar defensively, with SJ and Sheck popping up over there to create opportunities as well..

Middle: Blair, Luke, Gavet, Satae, Sipley, Vete.

Pulu to make up our back row rotation.

We still need three props and a halfback IMO. But worst case we hope to get our current props (who have obvious talent but seeming little desire) up to NRL fitness and they become the players they are capable of becoming.

I still think Pulu could be very good for us.

He's making 0.35 tackles per min compared to Hoffmans 0.32 and Thompsons 0.48. Missed tackles are way down, with offloads and tackle breaks way up.

Plus he has a powerful hit up which neither Hoffman or Thompson have.

I'm starting to like Kearneys process more and more.

Gotta bear in mind both Hoffman and Bodene are 80 minute players. Pulu averages two 25 minute stints. Very poor mans version of the other two players but good for fresh legs to give others a break and make some barnstorming runs at tired defence. His attacking stats should be pretty good. I see him as a replacement for Gavet who will be taking Benny or Bulls spot...

The question IV got is what do you guys see happening with
Ken Maumalo Is it possible to see him as a forward?
He's got first grade experience, Or is it to big of a Jump?

They didn't drop him this year, I don't think hes going anywhere, he'll be on the wing again next year.

    Beale will be at centre

He played in the U20s as a forward, then when he made the jump to ISP they decided he was a winger for some reason. Could be giving the coaches too much credit, but was there some deficiency in his forward game that led them to make that decision? Similar to how Ivan decided Matulino was too slow laterally to play as a back rower and moved him to prop.

Think it was more the Warriors seeing his fitness results and seeing that he would could play winger as opposed to him actually being a winger. Was posted here by TheCoolTheCool.

Kids talented no doubt but still rather see him at 2nd row...

Seeing as our squad's still a ways off being finalized I'm just gonna go ahead and put up a team that includes players we're rumored to be chasing.

    First Grade Squad

    1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
    2. David Fusitua
    3. Blake Ayshford
    4. Gerard Beale
    5. Peta Hiku*
    6. Blake Green*
    7. Shaun Johnson
    8. Adam Blair*
    9. Isaac Luke
    10. James Gavet
    11. Bodene Thompson
    12. Tohu Harris
    13. Simon Mannering

    14. Nate Roache
    15. Sam Lisone
    16. Albert Vete
    17. Leivaha Pulu

    Reserve Grade Squad
    1. Zac Santo
    2. Charnze Nicol-Klokstad
    3. Junior Pauga
    4. Solomone Kata
    5. Ken Maumalo
    6. Ata Hingano
    7. Mason Lino
    8. Ligi Sao
    9. Manaia Cherrington
    10. Pat Sipley
    11. Isaiah Papalii
    12. Bunty Afoa
    13. James Bell

    14. Chris Sio
    15. Chris Satae
    16. Daniel Palavi
    17. Jazz Tevaga

    *Signing unconfirmed

While that FG team looks really good what's got me excited is the reserves team. Regardless of WHO we sign to fill those extra few spots, so long as they have FG experience it'll mean we'll go into next season with the best depth we've had in years! The only players in that reserve team who haven't played FG are Pauga, Sipley, Sio and Palavi.

As hard as it is to see all of our great young players get released it's really reassuring to see this much experience in our reserve team. This should increase competition for spots even more and allow more consistency throughout the season.

Our backline starts to look a lot more... like an actual backline with Hiku and Beale.

Those two with Fus and CNK is a balanced looking outside back contingent to me.

It's cool, if he slows up or starts struggling in defence we can easily transition him out to the wing. Problem solved

Surely the signings of Beale and Hiku spell the end for at least one of Kata and/or Maumalo on the left?
