Did anyone hear the post gave interview, he said he was about to give the game up end of '22.

Hope he gets another opportunity at some point.

Mind I was pretty hyped on Patrick Herbert at one point (who MGT reminds me of) and he unfortunately hasn't progressed.

A little off topic but I think Patrick Herbert was very good and I don't remember why we let him go. I think he probably suffered a bit mentally when we let him go as that was the start of his decline.

After this weeks showing he will be in the frame, that debut for the Warriors was a head turner. Big stop tackles on the tryline are NRL coach porn, one on one edge defence is the holy grail for Warriors outside backs.

That was a real shame that he tripped because he missed a chance to make two epic try savers in rapid sucession.

Still that episode was very impressive in terms of how quickly he recovered from the first epic tackle and raced to try to make the second when someone took his ankles out from under him.

Most Juniors would have paused to celebrate their work after that first try saver.

I really really like this guy, it is behavior like that, following the ball that show he is ready, he is 100% NRL ready today.
Glad other people saw that. He hammered the first bloke, recovered and then jammed in on Herbie and would have got him too. I was amazed. All those kids have got that desire, that scramble. Laban has it, Ale has it.

He was a disaster at the Titans though

Still remember that try he botched right on full time against the roosters. All he had to do was pass the ball to Fafita to score but instead tried to play hero ball and went for the try line himself then offloaded to his invisible friend on the side line and lost them the game… 🤦🏻‍♂️

21 games, 10 tries and kicked about 18 goals.

That's not bad during a time when our whole team was poo.

He was what, 22-23 years old and would have improved.

And yes, he was bad at the tits Beastmode Beastmode
Are those stats meant to be impressive? He was average at best mate. I know we like to look at some ex players with rose tinted glasses but he wasn't overly talented, didn't show much in attack or defense to make me think he was very good or missed when he left.

The thing I liked about this debut is he looked NRL ready. Obviously he has worked his way through different clubs and systems, but he just looked ready.

To often we throw players in, sometimes by necessity, and they aren't ready. They have to do their development in the spotlight of first grade. Too often the potential tag is given to juniors coming through and they get found out when they put in too fast or too early.

I'm hoping the pathways, development and the style and structure of play we have allows us to bring players that are more balanced in terms of their readiness to step up.
