Yeah we even had this week Hooper trying to cover that Stuart gets an easy ride when they were talking about his contract extension. When he called that player a "weak gutted dog" it was well if you only knew. That always seem to be the case with Stuart. The father of Broncos star Payne Haas could face the death penalty after being arrested in the Philippines.Gregor Haas was arrested in Cebu City on Wednesday and faces extradition to Indonesia, where he is accused of running a sufficient quantity of drugs to qualify for the death penalty in that country.
This masthead revealed in March that Broncos prop Haas had taken custody of his two younger brothers after Gregor, a father of 10, had moved overseas to focus on business interests.
Indonesian authorities were allegedly on a manhunt for the 46-year-old since last December after police discovered five kilograms of crystal methamphetamine at an undisclosed location.

“We suspect him to have networks all over Asia, and we also suspect he has networks in Australia,” National Narcotics Agency [BNN] spokesman Sulistyo Pudjo Hartono told the Sydney Morning Herald.
“We have good co-operation with Australian police, so we will work with them too.”
Indonesia has a strong stance on illicit drugs and the death penalty remains in place for those convicted of possessing the large quantity of drugs allegedly held by Haas Sr.
There is no suggestion Broncos and NSW Origin forward Haas has any knowledge or involvement in the matter.
The last Australians to be executed in Indonesia were Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran in 2015.

“It means the world to me to be a father,” Haas said.
“I have my daughter in my life and I now have my two little brothers living with me.
“I have taken them under our household to live with me.
“I want to look over what they are doing in life and put them on the right path.
“I know my family has had some troubles lately in the last few years. I feel like it was best for them to come and live under my roof and let me guide them on the right path.
“Dad is overseas at the moment, so I wanted to be there for them.
“I’ve already got grey hairs growing looking after all these kids,” Haas adds with a laugh.
“It’s good. They are good boys and I love having my brothers around, they keep me on their toes.
“I have my partner there and she is the backbone of it all.“I do love my family a lot so as long as they are good, I’m happy.”

There won’t be too much sympathy for the family in Australia, and nor should there be. The Mum killed 3 innocent people whilst evading police at speed in her car.
I don't think his post was showing any sympathy to anyone other than Payne Haas and rightfully so. Looked up his age and he's only 24, looking after 2 of his younger brothers and his own daughter.
Can only imagine what he's seen/experienced growing up if this is what has come out in the media about both his parents.

Taylan May charged with DV offices, stood down by Penrith from Warriors match | Daily Telegraph
The future of Penrith Panthers star Taylan May is under a cloud after he was charged with assaulting his wife.
May has been stood down from playing this weekend after he was accused of punching Jessika May in the face and leg during an argument at a home in Werrington in Sydney’s west on April 8, police said.
Questions will now be raised within the NRL over the status of May’s playing future given the serious nature of the charges.
The 22-year-old, who had been listed to play against the Warriors on Sunday during the NRL flagship Magic Round, was arrested at 5am on Saturday at a Penrith address and was charged with domestic violence-related assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two counts of stalking or intimidating with intent to cause fear or physical harm.

Police have also taken out an interim Apprehended Violence Order application to protect Jessika.
May was absent from the Panthers game against the Tigers in the week following the alleged incident after he was stood down for “personal reasons”.
The couple were only married last year in a glitzy ceremony, which the club posted on its official Instagram account.
May was named in Penrith’s team to play the Warriors in QLD Morons on Sunday.
Criminal lawyer Paul McGirr said the charges do not trigger the NRL’s automatic stand down provisions because they carry a maximum penalty of less than 11 year.
‘But the NRL has obviously decided to use their discretion on the issue given the circumstances and stand him down anyway,” Mr McGirr said.
Last month he withdrew from a match against the Tigers because of personal reasons.
He only re-signed with the Panthers until the end of 2026 in March
The NRL and Panthers have been contacted for comment.
May was granted conditional bail by police to appear before Penrith Local Court on May 28.

Manly player Nathan Brown sued over “unpaid debts” to former player agent

Nathan Brown is set to face court over claims he has “unpaid debts” to his former agent Isaac Moses, who plans to sue the Manly player for more than $200,000.
The matter was heard in the NSW Supreme Court this week with Moses – who is the director of player management company Cove Agency – claiming Brown failed to pay him for securing his contract with Parramatta for 2019 and 2020.
Brown signed Moses as a player agent in March 2018, but dropped him in October 2020.

Moses is seeking $75,000 for his services and his legal costs, estimated at just over $150,000.
In documents exclusively obtained by news.com.au, Moses’s lawyers voiced their concerns to the court that Brown may be unable to pay costs if he loses the legal battle, as he is currently on a “train and trial contract” with Manly for the 2024 season only.
“Mr Brown is unlikely to earn in excess of $80,000 in 2024 and is more likely to earn, unless upgraded after round 11 of the 2024 NRL season, a gross sum of $62,400,” Moses’ lawyer Anthony Romeo stated in the documents.

Mr Romeo states Moses sent Brown a letter in June 2021 “demanding” the debt due be paid within seven days.
“The defendant has paid $0 to date,” he said.
“The plaintiff is and was at all material times responsible and successful for procuring a playing contract on behalf of the defendant for the 2019 and 2020 playing seasons,” Mr Romeo states in the documents.

“By not paying the agency fee the defendant has been unjustly enriched at the plaintiff’s expense.”
In the documents, Brown’s legal team states he denies “any indebtedness” to Moses.
The Manly player is 31-year-old, however, has stated his desire to play on for a few more years in recent media interviews.
He was signed in the off-season to the Sea Eagles on a “train-and-trial” basis, however, has since been upgraded to the club’s top 30 roster.
Brown recently played his 150th game in the NRL and made two Origin appearances for NSW in 2020. He also played in the 2022 grand final for Parramatta.
