Lawrie was the best player against us last year, crazy they’re letting him go, snap him up please!

Googled and it said he’s 27, on $680K until end of 2026, suppose we could pick up his contract with freight, even 100% is fine by me, and add in a year or 2 extension like we did with Capwah? Did we offer injury prone BHU $800k or something?

I agree. If the broncos can find a couple of 17 foot Maori boys in Willison & Te Kura. Why can't we? They stole them from our backyard? Lol.
Pretty confident that Te Kura hasn't ever lived in NZ.
Willison has been there since he was 15. Unsure if we tried to sign him but it'd be no surprise to learn that the Warriors weren't a particularly attractive pathway when he was a teenager.
Fortunately that's no longer the case & we'll get a better share of the top Kiwi youngsters going forward

Whoa would absolutely take Laurie off their hands, even at 800k that would be a massive win for us.

Probably referencing to the behind pay wall article but Lawrie might be in reserve grade next week, do we have the money to get him this year? Insane this is the 1st year of his extension

Marata could be a dud this year not coping with his weight so we could do with Lawrie as his replacement, bench of CHT, Walker, Lawrie/Marata, Ale/Bunty/Laban

that would be dreamy if he wanted to come home for a year or two...

NAS NOT FOR SALE
Melbourne Storm chairman Matt Tripp has declared game-breaking forward Nelson Asofa-Solomona is not for sale under any circumstances.
The future of the giant Kiwi forward has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks with him being overlooked for selection in the opening rounds.
Tripp had a long conversation with Asofa-Solomona in the sheds after Storm’s victory over the Brisbane Broncos at AAMI Park on Thursday night.
“It was a really good chat,” Tripp said.
“There’s been nothing from our end about him leaving.
“He’s not for sale, absolutely not.
“I said to him we’re competitive when he’s not in the side but we’re a genuine premiership threat when he’s fit and firing.”
The giant forward is now one of the highest paid forwards in the competition on $900,000-a-season, having knocked back the Wallabies last year to re-sign at Storm.
Tripp is hopeful Asofa-Solomona will be available for selection next weekend against the Bulldogs.
“He had a niggling hamstring all summer which held him back,” Tripp said.
“He’s a big bloke who needs miles in his legs. That’s why we’ve been playing him at Norths to get his match fitness right.”

He’s on a pretty penny and might not be worth the coin he’s on at present but definitely has the potential to be. Interesting it’s taken the storm this long to address the rumours that have been around for a bit. Whether the storm genuinely want to keep him is hard to gauge or if they are saying he’s staying put knowing they will want a player in return being he has a while left on his contract?

Why does the chairman have a “long conversation” with him when he is not going anywhere lol

“Are you going?”
“Nope”
“Sweet bro, see you next week”

That’s like 3 seconds

Webby needs to take him to the pub for a chat ..

Not for sale. Not going anywhere. Sounds like what the CEO says about the coach. "He has the full support of myself and the board. He's our coach and will get us out of this". Probably have some of the office workers sorting out how many boxes they need for them to move their stuff out of the office.

Similar to players that don't know where all of these rumours are coming from linking them to a different club. Next photos you see is them in that clubs jersey or polo shirt.

Don't be so confident lol....Nah, Ben was born & raised in Oz. Went back & Forth between NZ & Oz where he lived with his Nanny & Koro when he was here. Similar to ponga. Both parent's are NZ born Maori. When i say stole from our backyard - Im referring to the cultural connection.

Xavier still spent most of his life in NZ. 15 years as opposed to 6 in Oz.

Obviously we can't have them all. And it's hard knowing how they all turn out until they mature. Plus, Australia have a way superior junior pathways system to NZ. Hope this changes in the near future.

If we are looking for a forward for next season and we don't really care about size then I'm Trey Mooney all day! He's killing cup and would suit the warriors style no end, Huge Motor!
Was talk of them trying him on an edge where they’re lacking but they put Moriata there who they re signed before Mooney which still hasn’t been. He surely has something lined up away from Canberra?

His tackle efficiency was on the 90's last season no? He does seem a bit off what he was last year, but happy he's back in grade. Hoping he gets a debut this season. Maybe seeing how his good mate went in the weekend could spur on some cup form.
Remember he is only a couple of games in due to the 2 game suspension from the trial. I think he’ll continue to develop and may even get a call up this weekend if Jazz and Walker remain out. Expect to see him named on the extended bench.

It’s like saying the board has full confidence in the CEO before sacking them… more to this story than meets the eye.
They’re winning games against the teams that are tipped to win the comp without him. Why wouldn’t you see what you can get in return? They’re a club that’s keen on a swap seeing Olam go for Blore, think it would come down to them asking for an adequate replacement and wanting someone who might be worth more value than what anyone is prepared to part with
